Athans has received extensive training over many years in electrical engineering as it relates to power and illumination systems for commercial, industrial and residential project from J.C. Athans, P.E. and other professional electrical engineers. George A. Athans is Senior Vice President and in charge of electrical engineering at Athans Enterprises, Inc. He has had about 50 years experience in the field of electrical engineering, design drafting, field supervision, electrical cost estimating, preparation and interpretation of electrical specifications, review and correction of shop drawings, energy conservation and energy management inspections, recommendations, design and supervision of implementation, and electrical construction field supervision and observation. Administration: Estimating of production time for engineering and related services, preparation of contracts for engineering services, supervising invoicing, customer relations, meetings and promotional activities, and anagement of engineering, drafting and clerical personnel. Engineering: His electrical engineering experience includes power distribution and illumination including indirect uplighting systems for offices, schools, libraries and other projects, design and preparation of electrical plans, specifications for nearly 800 commercial, industrial and residential projects, runway and helistop lighting, photovoltaic electrical power generation systems, communications and signal system design, including intercommunication systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and door alarm systems. Energy management experience includes the design of radio frequency lighting control systems/micro-processor controlled lighting systems, energy management analysis of existing and proposed buildings and recommendations.
