A BRIEF HISTORY


Athans Enterprises, Inc., was founded October, 1976, and has been continuously engaged in the practice of consulting electrical engineering related to the building industry.


Its predecessor firms date back to Jerry C. Athans & Associates which was founded by Jerry C. Athans in early 1956.


An Athans' firm has been in practice continuously for some 50 years.


Jerry C. Athans was previously an Electrical Engineer in San Francisco for Pacific Gas and Electric from 1936 to 1940, and from 1941, in the Los Angeles area for a number of large Architectural/Engineering firms.


Jerry B. Athans, George A. Athans, and David G. Athans,P.E. are President, Senior Vice-President, and Vice-President respectively, of Athans Enterprises, Inc.    Jerry B. Athans, has been associated with an "Athans" Consulting Electrical Engineering Firm since the late fifties and George A. Athans since the early sixties. David G. Athans, P.E. is the third generation in the consulting electrical engineering business. He has been associated with Athans Enterprises, Inc. since the year 2000. He passed the E.I.T. in 2007, graduated in 2008 from CSUN with a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, degree in Electrical Engineering, and became a licensed professional engineer in 2011.


The firm's principals together, currently hold licenses as consulting electrical engineers as well as Contractor's Licenses in the classifications of C10; Electrical (General) and B; General Building Contractor.


The principals extended experience over several decades in the professional application of consulting electrical engineering and their practical experience in electrical installations for buildings, parks, manufactured housing communities and other facilities, in the field, provide a comprehensive background and experience for the performance of professional consulting electrical engineering services for building and related electrical; illumination, lighting control, power, stand-by power generation, communications, electrical life safety and other building related electrical systems.


Their experience includes hundreds of large, medium and small new projects plus hundreds of remodel projects, among which are preservation and adaptive use of historically significant buildings and sites.
